A real pay floor.
Every hour you're
on a delivery.
Since 17 August 2026, Australian law guarantees on-demand delivery riders a minimum hourly rate for the time they're actively completing a delivery. Swoot will not start rider deliveries until the required pay, insurance and record systems are ready.
Your earnings floor per engaged hour
Engaged time: If you know Uber Eats, think active time. It runs from accepting a delivery to completing it. Waiting online does not count.
Before accepting: Swoot will not start rider deliveries until each offer shows its estimated pay and required delivery details. The hourly figure is a weekly safety net, not the price of one job.
Quick example: Thirty engaged minutes equals a $16.00 car floor or $15.65 bicycle floor. We compare the full 7 days, add any shortfall on Tuesday, and keep tips on top. See the full calculation.
- โ100% of tips, always, on top of the floor
- โWeekly payouts once deliveries begin, straight to your bank account
- โPersonal accident insurance in place before the first rider delivery, as required by law
- โA written earnings statement after every earnings period once deliveries begin, so you can check the maths yourself
Eligibility
- โFull Australian driver licence, not a learner permit
- โYour own vehicle, registered and roadworthy
- โInsurance that specifically covers delivery use. Many standard personal policies exclude this. Check your policy wording before you apply, we will ask to see it
- โAn ABN
- โThe right to work in Australia, verified through VEVO before your first shift
- โ18 years or older
- โA smartphone with data
If you're in Robinvale or Euston through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme, you are almost always tied to your approved employer and generally cannot take other paid work under your visa conditions. Taking on delivery work could put your visa and your employer's approval at risk.
Please check your visa conditions, or ask your employer, before you apply. We would rather you ask first than run into a problem later.
Joining this list is not an offer of work. We'll contact you when the rider systems are ready and run through eligibility before any delivery work starts.
